Gil, partner seeders of conservation agriculture
March 07, 2011
Seeders Gil released recently dragged his first seeder shot of fence in tillage, in order to accommodate a market fiercely demanded this kind of machines for tractors of low power and good load capacity. In this way, the manufacturer is consistent with a period in which the most important thing is the design of seeders and tools that can be handled with the lowest possible power, scoring a maximum fuel savings and thus favouring the environmentmaking the products of the field still more profitable for the farmer.
Precisely this objective has wanted to comply with this innovative seeder, ideal to work with a 100 HP tractor, a working width of of 6 metres and a capacity of 2500 litres Hopper, obtaining an approximate performance of 4.5 hectares per hour with these features.
The great novelty that gives this machine is that in working position the train of sowing relies on six wheels, four power stations and two aisles, with a perfect weight distribution, so that the required drag force is the minimum and the depth is perfect in any field. Another feature common in this family of planters is the gate in 'T' inverted, with which it is possible to obtain a perfect location of the seed in the Earth, making the capping of the much simpler and ensuring the contact with the groundwhich allows a good germination and facilitates the closure of the Groove in an efficient manner.
This is how, as the seed to fall into the Groove is protected at all until its perfect location on Earth. Then, the shape of the grille and boot help seed stay not ever deposited over remains of the predecessor culture, but on the contrary, be in perfect contact with the ground. So how can be a great saving of seed and a perfect nascencia of them.
The seeder dragged shot of fence in direct seeding is distributed in four rows, making possible the approximation of the sowing drills at a distance which so far had not been possible in this type of sowing, i.e., about 16 cm. "This ensures a maximum cleaning work without traffic jams or embozamientos"", even in large accumulations of stubble", according to the manufacturer himself.
In the same way it is necessary to underline his versatility, as that can be used indistinctly both in direct sowing as minimum tillage or conventional tillage. "These qualities and many more make a good investment for any farmer who is not fully convinced of what the system that it is better to adapt to each particular holding, reducing investment in machinery that must be", says July Gil, Manager of the company.
Interview with Julio Gil Castro, Manager of seeders Gil
-When it began to design from seeders Gil machinery adapted to conservation agriculture techniques?
The first direct seeders were at the end of the 1980s for a research project on the Inia. We were the first national manufacturers to develop this technique, because since the beginning of this decade began to promote the vertical tillage.
-Is it a profitable business line?
It is simply another line more, within a sector of low profitability.
- As manufacturer, what tangible benefits for the farmer, does conservation agriculture?
When the pedology and climatic conditions are suitable for this practice has tangible benefits such as:
-The reduction of costs, provided that the management is correct.
- And the possibility of increasing the exploitation due to the reduction of time or the carry exploitation while dedicated to something else.
-Compared to other countries around us, is CA in Spain settled?
Countries around us is that more based is, as in the rest of Europe this practice is not common. And it is in Spain, in addition to arable crops, is well established in the olive grove and some fruit trees.
To what extent work seeders Gil of the hand with the associations that promote conservation agriculture in our country?
In Gil we try be in vanguard, in what are development and technological progress, and why we try to rely on partnerships that make a lot of research and extension.
