The Centre of Rural Studies and of International Agriculture has set up a project in the Busy Territories Palestinians with the end to improve the productivity of the olive groves and the quality of the oils of three municipalities of the province of Nablus. To attain it, the organisation works to increase the availability hídrica, boost the structures asociativas and form to the peasants in technicians of agricultural improvement with approach agroecológico. The project includes the construction and rehabilitation of cisternas for the collected of water of rain and of walls of containment, as well as the conditioning and the introduction of technicians for the conservation and decrease of the erosion of the floor. Of this way, Cerai procures to favour the development of a sustainable agriculture and valorizada, based in the good management and optimisation of the natural resources and in the improvement of the access to the market, as well as support and boost the ecological production.
The population that will benefit of direct way of the project will be integrated by olivicultores/ace and families of the three municipalities of Jama'in: Asira, To the Qibleyeh and Zeita, in the south of the region of Nablus, North of West Bank, where the main activity agriculturalist is the production of oil. In these regions the production olivarera is prejudiced by droughts, high costs of the water and of insumos agricultural, in addition to the fault of programs of agricultural extension, the presence and expansion of Israeli settlements and attacks by part of the colonos. Of the project, funded by Aceid and organised by Parc, also will benefit , indirectly, all the population, since through the strengthening of the sector of the olive grove dinamizará the feeble economy of the area and will do effective the hygiene and alimentary sovereignty and the right to a suitable standard of living.
