Dimensions of ads
For full-bleed advertisements (printed to the edge of the page), a minimum bleed of 3 mm is required. A safety margin of 5 mm, free of critical text or logos, is recommended to prevent accidental trimming.
File Formats and Resolution
Recommended formats:
- PDF with embedded fonts (preferably PDF/X-3)
- EPS with embedded fonts.
- TIFF, without layers or clipping masks (resolution specified below).
Native formats supported:
- Adobe InDesign
- Adobe Illustrator
Images:
- Minimum effective resolution: 300 DPI (400 DPI recommended).
- Preferably in CMYK (standard European inks); if using RGB, must include an embedded ICC profil·le.
- For CMYK, total ink coverage must not exceed 300%.
- Images sourced from websites are not suitable for print.
- JPEG files must be high quality (low compression).
Fonts and detail reproduction:
- For PDF and EPS formats, fonts must be embedded (preferable to converting text to outlines).
- If embedding is not possible, include fonts in OpenType or PostScript Type 1 format (Macintosh).
- Small text and detailed vector graphics should be reproduced using a single ink color.
Glossary:
What is "bleed"?
In graphic arts, bleed refers to the extra area that extends beyond the edge of the document. This ensures that no white margins remain after the final trimming process.
What is the “Safety Margin”?
This is the inner zone where no essential text or images should be placed, as the cutting process may shift slightly inward.
In the next picture shows the bleed using red color, and the safety margin in gray:

Cut double outer cover
Dimensions: 297 × 386 mm (+3 mm bleed on each side).
For trimmed covers, a 15 mm visible area is left on the left vertical margin.
