Ése es el caso de la industria de fabricación de vehículos y comercialización de nuevas formas de movilidad, para que las restricciones sanitarias que nos vienen dadas por la pandemia, perjudiquen lo menos posible su actividad. Sin ninguna duda, el COVID hamodificado nuestros hábitos de vida, de consumo, de trabajo y ha influido también en la forma de desplazarnos. Tenemos, por tanto, una nueva oportunidad para que el modelo económico en Madrid sea también sostenible, esté alineado con el respeto al medio ambiente y afronte el reto del cambio climático. Apostar por la sostenibilidad como herramienta de reactivación es ya una propuesta irrenunciable. La Comunidad de Madrid ha visto esta situación como una oportunidad para trabajar en el entorno y en las formas de movilidad facilitando alternativas comprometidas con el medioambiente. Con este objetivo, el gobierno de la Comunidad de Madrid ha puesto en marcha un sistema innovador de ayudas a la movilidad en nuestro país, un proyecto ambicioso y rupturista que permite obtener un bono ambiental para consumir en servicios de car- sharing y motosharing por el achatarramiento de un vehículo de It is essential that Public Administrations always guarantee the individual freedom of citizens and business owners, as well as the ability of the productive fabric in the region to act. This is the case of the vehicle manufacturing industry and the commercialisation of new forms of mobility, to ensure that the health restrictions being imposed on us by the pandemic, jeopardise their activity as little as possible. Without a doubt, COVID has changed our living, consumption and working habits and has also influenced the way we move around. We therefore have a new opportunity to make the economic model in Madrid sustainable, environmentally friendly and one that addresses the challenge of climate change. Supporting sustainability as a reactivation tool is already an indisputable issue. The Autonomous Community of Madrid has viewed this situation as an opportunity to work across the region and on the forms of mobility, facilitating alternatives committed to the environment. Given this objective, the Regional Government has launched an innovative system to subsidise mobility, through an ambitious and ground-breaking project in this country that will enable citizens to obtain an environmental ‘voucher’ to spend on car sharing and motorbike sharing services in exchange for scrapping a vehicle that is more than ten years old. This initiative will advance the transition towards a sustainable mobility and decarbonisation model in our cities, at the same time as giving the companies that provide these services a means to develop their business and renew their fleet and for industry to continue to register new non-contaminant vehicles. Along with this environmental voucher, it promotes the acquisition of electric vehicles for personal mobility, such as mopeds, bicycles and scooters. E-mobility is a good option for improving air quality as it reduces contaminant greenhouse gas emissions. It is also able to bring down noise pollution and help to achieve a more rational use of space. With these new forms of sustainable mobility, the citizen is directly involved in caring for the environment and their surroundings. HACIA UN NUEVO MODELO ECONÓMICO SOSTENIBLE La Comunidad de Madrid es motor de la economía española y espacio que ofrece confianza a la iniciativa privada, seguridad jurídica y oportunidades para todos. Ello adquiere una especial relevancia en estos momentos de pandemia en los que son necesarias cuantas iniciativas ayuden a la reactivación económica. En el Gobierno de la Comunidad de Madrid estamos adoptando todas las medidas sanitarias precisas para superar la crisis provocada por el COVID. Pero también y al mismo tiempo, estamos promoviendo medidas económicas y fiscales para aportar certidumbre y estabilidad. El compromiso del Gobierno regional con el tejido empresarial y productivo de la región es el resultado de entender su realidad y de saber que la iniciativa privada es esencial e insustituible en Madrid y en España. TOWARDS A NEW SUSTAINABLE ECONOMIC MODEL The Autonomous Community of Madrid is the driver of the Spanish economy and the space it offers gives private initiative confidence, legal certainty and opportunities for all. This is particularly important during these times of pandemic, inwhich many initiatives are necessary to help the economic reactivation. The Government of the Autonomous Community of Madrid is adopting every health measure required to overcome the crisis caused by COVID-19. But and at the same time, it is promoting economic and fiscal measures to provide certainty and stability. The commitment of the Regional Government to the corporate and productive fabric of the region is the result of understanding its reality and knowing that private initiative is fundamental and irreplaceable in Madrid and in Spain.
