Con una producción anual de más de 15 millones de tarros y 3 millones de kilos, Luxeapers es una de las principales exportadoras mundiales de encurtidos. Dentro de su oferta de encurtidos se incluyen alcaparras, alcaparrones, aceitunas, pepinillos, pimienta, banderillas y ajos en diferentes envases y aliños. Son estos aliños los que, debido a su contenido de vinagre y ácidos con un pH agresivo, provocan un ambiente hostil para equipos mecánicos y eléctricos, en particular para los equipos de ventilación. La corrosión producida por estos aliños, así como las filtraciones de agua durante los procesos de limpieza, aumentaban las necesidades de mantenimiento y las averías en la planta, de manera que los motorreductores se debían reemplazar prácticamente cada año. Esto conducía a unas pérdidas de producción que una empresa exportadora de la entidad de Luxeapers quería reducir al mínimo. Para conseguir limitar los efectos del ambiente corrosivo sobre los motorreductores, Luxeapers apostó por la solución VLT® FlexConcept® de Danfoss. Gracias a la envolvente higiénica, IP69K, y eficienca del VLT® OneGearDrive®, las necesidades demantenimiento y costes asociados por tiempos de parada disminuyeron drásticamente. Al mismo tiempo, se consiguió un ahorro energético del 25% debido a la alta eficiencia de estos equipos. Reducción significativa de las pérdidas de producción Para los responsables de Luxeapers, la mayor ventaja del empleo del VLT® OneGearDrive® es la reducción del tiempo de parada. AnWith an annual production of more than 15 million jars and 3 million kilos, Luxeapers is one of the world’s leading exporters of pickled products. Its product range includes capers (both the berries and the flower buds), olives, gherkins, peppers, pickles on skewers and garlic in different packages and pickling liquids. Due to their vinegar and acid content with aggressive PH levels, these liquids create a hostile environment for mechanical and electrical equipment, in particular, for ventilation units. The corrosion produced by these pickling liquids, as well as filtrations of water during the cleaning processes, had increased the maintenance needs and downtime at the Luxeapers plant, resulting in the geared motors needing to be replaced almost every year. This led to production losses that one of Luxeaper’s export companies wished to minimise. In order to limit the effects of the corrosive environment on the geared motors, Luxeapers opted for the VLT® FlexConcept® solution from Danfoss. Thanks to the hygienic IP69K enclosure and the efficiency of the VLT® OneGearDrive®, the maintenance needs and associated costs of downtime drastically decreased. At the same time, a 25% energy saving was achieved due to the high efficiency of this equipment. Significant reduction in production losses For the managers of Luxeapers, the biggest advantage of VLT® OneGearDrive® is the reduced downtime. Before incorporating this solution from Danfoss, the motors were failing during production and the stoppage could last for 4 or 5 hours. As the filling machine has 4 motors, which had to be replaced once a year, the time lost at the end of the year was equivalent to two work shifts. The impact of these stoppages on production was significant for Luxeapers taking into account that one minute of downtime means a production loss of between 120 and 140 jars.
