Hace poco más de tres años, SEAT decidió implementar una estrategia para ofrecer al mercado una alternativa de movilidad más sostenible y eficiente desde la perspectiva medioambiental, a la par que accesible para el consumidor. El análisis realizado por la compañía entonces, arrojó la conclusión de que el GNV se erigía como la alternativa perfecta por su doble vertiente ecológica y económica, con muchos visos, además, de tener un amplio recorrido. De hecho, la Unión Europea reconoce en sus políticas de descarbonización del transporte, la relevancia y la aportación del gas natural como combustible de presente y de futuro. Además, el GNV ofrece alternativas aún más eficientes a nivel medioambiental, como es el caso del GNV de procedencia renovable (biogás), que, además de ser neutro en emisiones de CO2, y equiparable por tanto al vehículo eléctrico, es una solución de economía circular. En esta línea, SEAT también colabora en proyectos para promover la producción de biogás a partir residuos orgánicos (ganaderos, agrícolas o industriales), procedentes de vertederos y aguas residuales. Ya es una realidad técnicamente viable producir un biocombustible de origen 100% español (biogás), apto para su eso en vehículos de gas natural fósil. Just over three years ago, SEAT decided to implement a strategy to offer the market a more sustainable and efficient mobility alternative from the environmental perspective, while making it accessible for the consumer. The analysis carried out by the company then concluded that VNG would emerge as the perfect alternative thanks to its dual ecological and economic benefits, and the potential to have a broad outreach. In fact, in its transport decarbonisation policies, the EU recognises the relevance and contribution of natural gas as a fuel of the present and the future. VNG offers even more efficient alternatives at environmental level, such as the case of renewably-sourced VNG (biogas) which, in addition to being neutral in CO2 emissions, and thus comparable with the electric vehicle, is a circular economy solution. In this regard, SEAT is also collaborating in projects to promote the production of biogas from organic waste (livestock, agricultural and industrial), originating from landfill and waste water. Producing a 100% Spanish biofuel (biogas), suitable for use in fossil natural gas vehicles, is already a technically viable reality. GAS NATURAL VEHICULAR, UNA SOLUCIÓN DE MOVILIDAD SOSTENIBLE DE PRESENTE Y DE FUTURO La creciente regulación en materia de emisiones junto a la mayor sensibilización medioambiental de los consumidores, harán crecer cada vez más la demanda de motorizaciones sostenibles. En este sentido, si bien está más que acreditado el auge que va a experimentar el vehículo eléctrico, no es menos cierto que no va a ser la única alternativa con la que dar respuesta a una movilidad cada vez más neutra en emisiones de GEIs. Tanto es así, que muchos actores de la industria del automóvil abogan por la neutralidad tecnológica en la búsqueda de respuestas a las diferentes necesidades de la sociedad. En línea con ello, SEAT viene implementando una importante ofensiva en la promoción y uso del gas natural vehicular (GNV), como otra más de las alternativas de movilidad sostenible a tener en cuenta.
