Pese a los desafíos, la energía solar tiene bases estructurales sólidas en Latinoamérica. La realidad es que las necesidades energéticas de la región siguen aumentando y que por unas u otras razones los países de la región siguen en extrema necesidad tanto de producir energía, como de invertir en las fuentes energéticas que ya tienen, así como de reestructurar sus sistemas eléctricos; de modo que las cargas sobre las finanzas del Estado sean menores. A esto desde luego se añade el compromiso de muchos países con Naciones Unidas por aumentar la contribución de las renovables en su mix energético. Por otra parte, esos mismos retos de la energía solar en Latinoamérica, pueden también crear oportunidades en Brasil, Argentina y México, países en los que muchas empresas ya han expresado interés en adquirir inversores GoodWe para almacenamiento de energía, que es precisamente una de las especialidades de la empresa y un área que desarrolla desde 2013, con muy buenos resultados y altas ventas en mercados como Sudáfrica, Australia e Italia. En Argentina, por ejemplo, se ha disparado el interés de muchos usuarios por independizarse de la red, como resultado de la inestabilidad del suministro energético desde la red; en Brasil, no son pocas las empresas que están ya explorando comercializar inversores híbridos ante la eventualidad de que las principales empresas eléctricas aumenten los costes de conexión. En México, mientras tanto, las tarifas eléctricas comerciales son altas y ahora muchos pequeños negocios están empezando a pensar en escenarios de autoconsumo. El buen potencial de este tipo de inversores se puso de manifiesto en la edición de este año de InterSolar South America en Brasil, donde GoodWe presentó el nuevo inversor ESA, una solución “todo en uno” con batería integrada, que atrajo un enorme interés. A este respecto un producto interesante que acaba de lanzar la compañía es la línea EH, un inversor de conexión a red con opción de batería, que tiene el potencial de ser de gran interés para usuarios latinoamericanos, que al principio puedan mostrarse indecisos sobre si les conviene o no instalar un sistema híbrido. Para 2020 el equipo de I+D de GoodWe está trabajando para desarrollar inversores más grandes, de aplicación en plantas solares, así como para lanzar nuevas soluciones de almacenamiento energético a nivel comercial e industrial. Del mismo modo, tiene previsto el lanzamiento de HomeKit, para análisis y monitorización energética en hogares y, eventualmente, en negocios. Las perspectivas de crecimiento en la región son pues de lo más positivas y entre los planes de la compañía para el año próximo se encuentra reforzar su relación con clientes y socios, así como expandir su presencia en la región mediante la contratación de un mayor número de ingenieros locales, para da a conocer la marca a más actores de la industria fotovoltaica de la región. Despite the challenges, solar power enjoys sound structural bases in Latin America. The reality is that the energy needs of the region continue to grow and that for one reason or another, the nations have a dire need to both produce power and to invest in the energy sources that they already have, while restructuring their electrical systems to reduce the load on State funds. This of course is in addition to the commitment of many countries to the United Nations targets to increase the contribution of renewables in their energy mix. These same challenges facing solar power in Latin America can also create opportunities in Brazil, Argentina and Mexico - countries in which many companies have already expressed interest in acquiring GoodWe inverters for energy storage. This is precisely one of the company’s specialties and an area it has been developing since 2013, with very positive results and high volumes of sales in markets such as South Africa, Australia and Italy. In Argentina, for example, the interest of many users in achieving grid independence has surged as a result of the instability of the grid’s energy supply. In Brazil, many companies are already exploring ways to commercialise hybrid inverters should the main electricity utilities increase connection charges. Meanwhile in Mexico, commercial electricity tariffs are high, so many small businesses are now starting to consider self-consumption scenarios. The huge potential of this type of inverter was demonstrated at this year’s edition of Intersolar South America in Brazil, where GoodWe presented the new ESA inverter, an “all-in-one” solution with an integrated battery that attracted a great deal of interest. One interesting product that has just been launched by the company is the EH series, a grid connection inverter with a battery option, which is potentially of high interest to Latin American users, who at first can be rather unsure if the installation of a hybrid system is appropriate or not. For 2020, GoodWe’s R&D team is working to develop larger inverters for application in solar plants, as well as to launch new energy storage solutions at commercial and industrial level. Similarly, the company expects to launch HomeKit, which analyses and monitors energy use in the home and in future, for businesses. The growth prospects in the region are thus extremely positive and the company’s plans for next year include strengthening their relations with clients and partners, as well as expanding their presence in the region by recruiting a greater number of local engineers to increase brand awareness among more PV industry agents in the region. Next year GoodWe will be present at the following trade fairs: Solar Power Mexico, Expo Solar Colombia and Intersolar South America in Brazil.
