Comeval Valve Systems participated in the SHUQAIQ 3 desalination plant project through the design and supply of CSA – GOLIA Series air/vacuum valves made of super duplex stainless steel. Air is very damaging to water pipes and can cause severe damage to the integrity of the infrastructure. Commonly installed at the high points of the pipeline route, air valves must incorporate an isolation valve on a T-pipe fitting. The use of triple-function air valves equipped with an anti- water hammer system (AS) and a rapid filling preventer (RFP) mechanism ensures pipeline durability, prevents pipe breakages and flooding, whilst also preventing undesirable water hammer associated with rapid closures. GOLIA air valves feature a triple-function design and ensure reliable operation of piping systems by allowing the evacuation of air pockets in normal working conditions, and the evacuation and intake of large volumes of air during pipeline filling and emptying operations. They are designed for the most arduous industrial and mining conditions, aggressive environments and seawater applications. GOLIA valves are available with AISI 316, Duplex or Super Duplex components, in accordance with process and environmental conditions, thus guaranteeing extraordinary durability in service. Super Duplex was the material chosen in the specific case of the SHUQAIQ 3 desalination plant. n En esta planta desaladora SHUQAIQ 3, la Compañía Comeval Valve Systems ha participado en el diseño y suministro de ventosas anti-vacío construidas en acero inoxidable súper Dúplex CSA – Series GOLIA. El aire es muy dañino en las conducciones de agua pudiendo provocar daños severos en la integridad de la infraestructura. Instaladas habitualmente en los puntos altos del trazado deben de llevar incorporada una válvula de aislamiento sobre un accesorio de tubo en T. Mediante la utilización de ventosas de triple efecto provistas de sistema anti-golpe (AS) y mecanismo de prevención de llenado rápido (RFP) estamos asegurando la durabilidad de la conducción sin límites con el consiguiente efecto de evitar roturas e inundaciones y previniendo los indeseables golpes de ariete que originan los cierres rápidos. Las ventosas GOLIA son de diseño triple función y aseguran una operación fiable de los sistemas de tubería permitiendo la evacuación de bolsas de aire durante las condiciones de trabajo, y la evacuación y la entrada de grandes volúmenes de aire en caso de operaciones de llenado y vaciado de la tubería.
