 The opportunity of digitalisation In this context, there is an opportunity to avail of calls for proposals associated with Next Generation European Fund to accelerate the implementation of initiatives to address a number of environmental and sustainability objectives, including the necessary investment in water infrastructure and the digitalisation of the water sector. In the Andalusian water sector, we have been working hard in recent months to define a series of strategic projects that are sufficiently transformational, viable and mature to be managed and implemented by the Authorities within the framework of this call for proposals. These projects could be financed through regionalised funds to make them the drivers of transition and progress in the areas of Energy Efficiency, Circular Economy and Digital Transformation. In parallel to obtaining funds and economic resources for water infrastructures, we also need to foster public-public and publicprivate partnership formulas involving public authorities and water operators, as a feasible and efficient way to execute and materialise the priority actions required in the sector in the short and medium term. Common commitment and joint responsibility In any case, there is no doubt that we need partnerships, collaboration and co-participation, i.e., a common, general strategy to tackle this issue, and we need long-term thinking. Current water sustainability, threatened by drought, and future water sustainability require global action focused on the effects of climate change. Moreover, there is also a need for specific proposals in areas such as renewable energies, sustainable mobility and, of course, comprehensive education on the proper use and consumption of water by society. Public awareness and sensitisation campaigns to foster efficient and responsible use of water are amongst the initiatives continually promoted by ASA Andalucía and the entire water sector. Although domestic water consumption has being falling in recent years (the national average has fallen to 128 litres per inhabitant per day, among the lowest in Europe), thanks to the efforts of users, it is equally true that we must continue to promote actions in this area as a sector, making a permanent call for social awareness and joint responsibility on the part of citizens. Each one of us, be it in the role of user, utility or regulator, must see ourselves as water stewards. We must all be firmly committed to ensuring water for today and for tomorrow, for ourselves and for our descendants. There is sufficient evidence to justify concern about water scarcity and its negative effects. Each of us must be aware of this and do everything within our power to contribute through good practices. Caring for water is caring for our well-being and our environment. Let us bear in mind the fundamentally important role of water for life and health, as a human right and a strategic element of social, economic and environmental development. 
