Asimismo, este proyecto sienta las bases para que puedan surgir otras posibilidades futuras de seguir integrando más tecnología en el sistema de reciclaje gracias a unmayor uso del big data, entre otros. Sant Boi de Llobregat, ciudad pionera en reciclaje incentivado El contenedor amarillo inteligente se ha presentado esta mañana en Sant Boi de Llobregat. Este municipio, que fue de los primeros en apostar por el reciclaje por incentivos en 2019 con la implantación de RECICLOS, se va a usar ahora como campo de pruebas y ya cuenta con los primeros 16 contenedores amarillos inteligentes en los que se han instalado estos aros. Para dar a conocer su uso, el ayuntamiento de la localidad y Ecoembes han impulsado una campaña de información ciudadana durante el primer mes de implantación de la iniciativa. Al acto de presentación han asistido Lluïsa Moret, alcaldesa de Sant Boi de Llobregat; Óscar Martín, consejero delegado de Ecoembes y José Luis Moreno, gerente de Innovación de Ecoembes. Óscar Martín, consejero delegado de Ecoembes ha afirmado que “con el contenedor amarillo inteligente revolucionamos tecnológicamente el actual sistema de reciclaje por recompensa, dando un salto que nos permite afrontar los nuevos desafíos y objetivos legislativos marcados desde España y desde Europa para avanzar hacia la tan necesaria economía circular. Convertir los contenedores amarillos de la calle, al alcance de todo el mundo y donde el ciudadano está acostumbrado a reciclar, en inteligentes y que a través de ellos se puedan obtener recompensas que le inviten a reciclar cada vez más y mejor es, sin duda, el camino a seguir”. El objetivo es expandir esta tecnología a nivel nacional. El hecho de que no modifique el hábito de los ciudadanos a la hora de reciclar ni el dispositivo que usan para ello (contenedor amarillo) facilita su escalado a medio plazo. Cómo funcionan los contenedores amarillos inteligentes Para usar un contenedor inteligente, los ciudadanos previamente se han tenido que registrar en la webapp de RECICLOS. Cuando acuden al contenedor amarillo, se identifican con su móvil a través del QR incorporado en el contenedor e introducen sus latas y/o botellas de plástico de bebidas, de una en una y sin bolsa, por el aro, que reconoce de forma automática los envases, se abre y se ilumina en verde indicando que los envases son correctos. En las siguientes 24 horas, el ciudadano obtiene puntos, denominados RECICLOS, que podrán ser canjeados por las distintas recompensas disponibles, tales como sorteos de productos sostenibles o donaciones a proyectos sociales omedioambientales del municipio. En concreto, en Sant Boi de Llobregat, los puntos obtenidos pueden canjearse por participaciones en un sorteo para conseguir un patinete eléctrico o por donaciones a la Asociación Tots som Santboians, centrada en ayudar a personas con discapacidad, y que se encargará de realizar acciones de preservación de espacios verdes. Además, estos contenedores inteligentes siguen contando con una boca tradicional que se puede usar para depositar el resto de envases destinados al contenedor amarillo que se vayan a reciclar. become a testing ground and has already deployed the first 16 smart yellow bins fitted with these rings. How the smart bins work To use a smart bin, citizens must first register on the RECICLOS webapp. On arrival at the yellow bin, they identify themselves with their mobile phone using the QR code incorporated into the bin and insert their cans and/or plastic drinks bottles, one at a time and without a bag, through the ring, which automatically recognises the containers, opens and lights up in green to indicate that the containers are correct. In the following 24 hours, the citizen obtains points, called RECICLOS, which can be exchanged for the different rewards available, such as raffles for sustainable products or donations to social or environmental projects in the municipality. In the specific case of Sant Boi de Llobregat, points obtained can be exchanged for participation in a raffle to win an electric scooter or to make donations to the Tots som Santboians Association, which focuses on helping people with disabilities, and which will be responsible for the undertaking of actions to preserve green spaces. These smart bins will continue to have a traditional feed-in opening for the deposit of other types of appropriate packaging waste so that this waste can be recycled.
