ESPAÑA | SPAIN Con la previsión de superar las dos toneladas de pilas y baterías usadas y constatando una gran participación por parte de los aficionados, Ecopilas celebra el éxito de la 76 edición de la Vuelta a España 2021. Ecopilas instaló sus stands en las líneas de salida y parque vuelta de las las 21 etapas de la competición y repartió más de 20.000 minirecopiladores domésticos. Además, para fomentar la participación en la campaña de recogida, Ecopilas puso en marcha la iniciativa ‘Reciclar tiene premio seguro’ que fue muy valorado por los visitantes que abarrotaron diariamente los stands y recibieron distintos regalos por acercarse a depositar sus pilas usadas. Un año más, los principales representantes de Ecopilas participaron en la mitad de las salidas de etapa de la Vuelta en el Gesto por el Reciclaje, junto a las autoridades de comunidades y municipios, así como invitados de la prueba deportiva y su dirección. Valencia, Cuenca, Cantabria, Asturias y Galicia registraron estos momentos, mientras que en el resto de las etapas, fue Ambilamp la organización responsable de llevar a cabo este Gesto por el Reciclaje. La colaboración de la Vuelta a España y Ecopilas se remonta a 2011, año desde el que ambas entidades han recogido más de 7 toneladas de pilas y baterías, unas 355.000 unidades. Esta relación convirtió a Ecopilas en la primera entidad medioambiental de nuestro país en ligar el deporte y la sensibilización y la educación en los hábitos del reciclaje, con tal éxito de acogida que marcó el arranque de una intensa actividad con otras citas deportivas de distintas disciplinas. Ecopilas set up its stands at the start and finish lines of the 21 stages of the competition and handed out more than 20,000 mini-collection units for use in the home. Moreover, in order to encourage participation in the collection campaign, Ecopilas launched the ‘Recycling has a guaranteed reward’ initiative, which was highly appreciated by visitors who crowded the stands every day and received different gifts for handing in their used batteries. This year, the main representatives of Ecopilas once again participated in half of the stage starts of the Vuelta in the “Gesture for Recycling” initiative, along with regional and municipal authorities, guests of the sporting event and members of the Vuelta management team. Ecopilas participated in Valencia, Cuenca, Cantabria, Asturias and Galicia, while Ambilamp was the organisation responsible for the “Gesture for Recycling” initiative in the remaining stages. Cooperation between the Vuelta a España and Ecopilas dates back to 2011. Since then, the two organisations have collected over seven tonnes of batteries and accumulators, the equivalent of some 355,000 units. This partnership made Ecopilas the first environmental organisation in Spain to link sport with awareness-raising and education in recycling habits. The initiative was so warmly received that it proved to be a launching pad for intensive activity with other sporting events in different disciplines.
