Según se refleja en estos informes que SIGAUS remite cada año en formato electrónico a todas las CC.AA, -y que para la Entidad son la herramienta principal con la que informar a las Administraciones Públicas sobre su labor durante el año anterior-, en 2018 se atendió la recogida de este residuo en cerca de 69.400 establecimientos productores distribuidos por 4.817 municipios de toda España. Estos Informes detallan además la relación de empresas adheridas a SIGAUS que, a cierre de 2018, fueron 234 –con 15 nuevas adhesiones que suponen un incremento neto del 3,54%-, reflejando además la evolución del mercado de aceites industriales durante los últimos 5 años. Por otro lado, se enumeran las instalaciones de gestión contratadas por SIGAUS que intervinieron en la recogida y tratamiento del aceite usado, y se detallan los datos de gestión bruta y neta del residuo o los tratamientos aplicados al aceite usado recogido. En este sentido, la cantidad de residuo bruta recogida en 2018 fue de 167.972 toneladas, cerca de la mitad, el 42%, procedente de establecimientos del sector automoción, y el 34% de instalaciones industriales. El 25% restante procedió de diversas actividades, como agricultura, comercio, hostelería o construcción, entre otros. Tras la retirada de los impropios, como agua o sedimentos, que contiene el residuo bruto recogido -y que se separan para facilitar la gestión final-, el pasado año la cantidad neta valorizada por SIGAUS fue de 141.297 toneladas, un volumen con el que sería posible llenar un tanque industrial cilíndrico de 10 m de diámetro y casi 2.000 m de altura, el equivalente a 20,8 veces la torre del Big Ben de Londres. Record de regeneración en 2018 En 2018 la cifra de residuo regenerado ha sido la más alta de la última década: un total de 100.321 toneladas, el 72,43% del total de aceites usados regenerables, y un porcentaje que supone no sólo el cumplimiento del objetivo de regeneración establecido por el artículo 8 del Real Decreto 679/2006 (que es del 65%), sino superarlo en 7 puntos porcentuales. Gracias al tratamiento de regeneración, SIGAUS hizo posible en 2018 ahorrar a la atmósfera un total de 300.962 toneladas de CO2, whilst also ensuring compliance with the ecological targets set out in legislation. These Reports, submitted each year in electronic format by SIGAUS to the Autonomous Communities, are the main tool with which the entity informs the public authorities of the work it has carried out in the previous year. The most recently submitted Reports indicate that in 2018, used oil was collected from almost 69,400 establishments, located in 4,817 municipalities throughout Spain. The Reports also provide details of the management facilities that have contractual agreements with SIGAUS for the collection and treatment of used oil, as well as gross and net management figures for the used oil and the treatment it undergoes. A gross total of 167,972 tonnes of used oil was collected in 2018. Almost half (42%) came from the automotive sector, while 34% was collected from industrial facilities. The remaining 25% came from a variety of sectors, such as agriculture, retailing, hotels, bars and restaurants, construction, and others. Subsequent to the removal of inappropriate contents, such as water and sediments, in order to facilitate final management, a net total of 141,297 tonnes of used oil was recovered by SIGAUS last year. This would be sufficient to fill a cylindrical industrial tank of 10 m in diameter and almost 2,000 m in height, the equivalent of 20.8 times the Big Ben clock tower in London. Record reclamation in 2018 A total of 100,321 tonnes of used oil was reclaimed in 2018, the highest figure in the last decade. This represents 72.43% of all reclaimable oil, meaning that the reclamation target set out in article 8 of Royal Decree 679/2006 (65%) was exceeded by 7 percentage points.
