As of today, the
Executive Committee of the Coordinator of organizations of farmers and livestock (Coag), headed by its Secretary General, Miguel Lopez, presents in Brussels the strategic initiative in defense of fair prices for the professional agricultural. The heads of the agrarian organization inaugurated today same a round of contacts with a meeting of work first thing in the morning with the European competition Commissioner, Joaquín Almunia. Among other things, they affect the overall situation of the agricultural sector and in particular that of producers within the agri-food chain; the application of the law on defense of competition by the national competition Commission (CNC) in Spain; the analysis of Community law of competition and performances developed by the different Member States and the possibilities of action by the production sector with regard to the current situation. The day will conclude this afternoon with a meeting with the Chief of staff of the Agriculture Commissioner, Dacian Ciolos, Georg Häusler. Tomorrow, the spokesmen of Coag interview with two senior positions in the Cabinet of the Commissioner of health and Consumer Affairs: Harald Kandolf, responsible for agriculture, food safety, environment, climate and energy and Rossella Delfino, responsible for consumer, competition and State aidInternal market and services.
On September 22, will take place the meetings between the representatives of Coag and the current President of the Council of Ministers of agriculture, the Belgian Sabine Laruelle, and with the members of the Cabinet of the Commissioner for enterprise and industry, Diego Canga-FanoDeputy Director of the Cabinet and head of relations with the Council and Mattia Pellegrini, responsible for agro-food industry, competition, health and consumers and trade policy. In the afternoon, also confirmed the meeting with Frank Hoffmeister, responsible for agriculture, WTO, OECD, relations with Germany, United Kingdom, Spain and Portugal, environment and climate of the Cabinet of the Commissioner for trade Karel de Gucht.
