Transforming contaminantes in fertilizantes

The waste treatment water in the industry of feeding and drunk represents a big challenge for the sector, is thus that the industry is applying important efforts in this sense. The investment in systems for the depuración of waste water in the alimentary industry is very high, (represents 36% of the investment in depuración of water of all the industry manufacturera) and supposes the elder of the investments realised by the alimentary industry in environingingmental correction.
Like result of the project has reached a deep elimination of contaminantes of the waste water of the dairy sector, with more than 90% of phosphate recovered of the waters potentially valorizable like fertilizante.
With a budget of some 1,4 million euros, the project of 30 months of length had like aim the development of a pilot plant of treatment of waters based in the sequential combination of two electrochemical technologies advanced: electrocoagulación and electrooxidación. The plant included also a unit of recovery/recycled of phosphorus of the residual water, in a system of treatment integrated cheese cheese never considered to date. The pilot plant has been implemented in the inmediaciones of the dairy company Can Corder of Santa Eulalia of Ronçana (Barcelona), which will act as I besiege demonstration of the technology Rephater in the next years.
