The consumption of water in Madrid during 2009 was lower than the average Spanish

In particular, although the Spanish average was at the time of 149 litres per capita per day, the number of consumption in the region stood something underneath, in 145 litres.
In terms of the unit value, the Spanish average was then 1.42 EUR per cubic metre and Madrid stood then for above with 1.67 euros, according to these same data.
The average consumption of drinking water in Spanish households fell by 3.2 per cent in 2009 and stood at 149 litres per capita per day, a volume less than the 154 litres in 2008.
Higher average consumption occurred in Cantabria (180 litres per capita per day), the Valencian Community (174) and the region of Murcia (166). On the contrary, low media consumption occurred in homes of the Basque country and the autonomous cities of Ceuta and Melilla (126) and Balearic Islands (127).
