Agricultural water use is growing in all Spain, except in Valencia and Extremadura

In addition to Andalusia, in the year 2009 increased the use of water from the year earlier in all the autonomous communities except in the region of Valencia and Extremadura.
By types of cultivation, the herbaceous (cereals, legumes and fodder crops) absorbed 47.7 per cent of the volume of total water, with an increase of 10.4% over the previous year. On the other hand, potatoes and vegetables were the crops with a lower cost (7.4% of the total), and also recorded a decrease of 8.1% in relation to a year earlier.
