Domestic water consumption stands at 157 litres, down 1.9%

Household water consumption continues to decline, according to the 'profile environmental Spain 2009' which was introduced earlier this month the Environment Minister, Elena Espinosa. In particular, household spending of water stood, to get an idea, in 157 litres per inhabitant per day in 2007. In agreement with the report on the evolution of the environment in the country, this average consumption under 1.9 per cent with respect to the 160 litres per inhabitant per day in the year 2006. With regard to make water supplies, the 'environmental profile of Spain 2009' includes last year's figures, which refer to an increase of 23 per cent thanks to the abundant rainfall produced by end of year.
