November 18, 2009
Fluidra, multinational group of applications to the sustainable use of water, invoiced 460,7 million euros until the end of September, a 16.1% less compared to the same period of the previous year. For the second time, for six months, the company presented signs of recovery, with income of 140,7 million euros (- 8.3%). This upward trend is the result of the greater weight of recurring business and the recovery of some markets in southern Europe (for example, France with 10%) and the geographic area in Asia/Pacific (Australia with an increase of 12 per cent). Positive outcomes have occurred in the four business units: swimming-pool and irrigation with signs of recovery (- 9.2% and + 3.1% in the quarter), while water treatment has reached levels of sales similar to those of the last year.
Some accounting data show that the improvement of cash flow was 69.2 million euros on the first nine months of the year 2008, on the basis of the positive developments of the working capital and operating costs. Both experienced significant reductions result of the various initiatives undertaken to improve the efficiency of the company. The recurrent net profit stood at 11.6 million euros, compared to 30.6 million in the year 2008. Sales recovered up to achieve the 140,7 million euros in the third quarter, supported by the positive evolution of key markets in Europe and Asia/Pacific. "The figures show that we are adapting quickly and that" certain markets begin to recover. This fact allows us to concentrate on the development of the business, our internationalisation and diversification of our portfolio of "products", said the Managing Director of Fluidra, Eloi plans.
