The resin Valox iQ of Sabic Innovative Plastics contributes to sustainability and waste reduction
January 12, 2009
The program of certification Cradle to Cradle was created by MBDC and is implemented throughout the world, through partners such as the Agency for the promotion of environmental protection (EPEA) of Germany.
The resin Valox iQ is derived from polymers based on terephthalate (PBT) polybutylene using a patented process. The material uses less energy and generates less carbon dioxide (CO2) than traditional resins throughout the manufacturing process. The resin Valox iQ is obtained using up to 85 percent of plastic waste materials, reducing in a 50 to 85 percent its footprint of carbon with respect to other thermoplastics engineering and increasing the useful life of a polyethylene bottle up to 20 years.
