This activity will be complemented by 600 inspections to camps to prevent bacteria and checks at origin to riskier industries of this pathogen on par to be carried out checks of chlorination in drinking water, which also serves as a vehicle for salmonella and other pathogens.
The head of the Agency for health protection and food security of the Junta de Castilla y León, Jorge Llorente, commented that "75 thousand dícticos information will be distributed before the arrival of summer and there will be an effective radio campaign and all the information relating to this evil will be published in the health portal of the Board".
Llorente also explained that during the 2010 took place in this community a total of 47 outbreaks of toxi-infections with affected 787 and 51 hospitalised, of whom about 16 (34%) suffered salmonella. Equally, the Adviser recalled that precisely 50% of the outbreaks of this disease were located in the hottest months, i.e. from June to September.
