The MARM highlights in China Spain is a leading country in the use of new technologies in the use of water

During his speech, Marta Morén explained the policy pursued by the Government for the modernization of irrigation and the experience of Spain in the introduction of new technologies for the treatment of the water.
The Director general of the water stressed that the Government of Spain commitment to a sustainable use of water management and by the use of all those technologies that allow to optimize the existing water resources, with a low environmental impact, such as the reuse of reclaimed water, savings, efficiency, desalination, purification, guarantee supplies and modernization of irrigation.
Furthermore, stressed that Spanish companies are global reference in water-related technologies and that the MARM advocates the use of non-conventional resources, where new technologies have significantly reduced energy expenditure.
On the other hand, Marta Morén pointed out the importance the modernization of irrigation systems in a country as Spain where the largest consumer of water is produced in this sector. In that regard, he stated that the MARM aims at the development of a sustainable and environmentally friendly irrigation with the environment, to make compatible the profitability of farms and the increase in the quality of life in rural areas, with the water and energy efficiency.
To this end, he added, is very important the technification of farm management and modernization of irrigation by what the MARM is currently working on the adoption of the national strategy for the sustainable modernization of irrigation systems by 2015 horizon.
Its core aims include the promoting efficiency in the management of the water, while respecting the environment and the conditions of the flora and fauna of the irrigated areas; promote the rationality in the use of energy and the use of alternative water resources.
