The Ministry of environment, through the Andalusian water agency, prepared a 'Manual of recommendations for construction and management of rafts'. This manual compiles the measures for an enabling environment for the development of biodiversivad and with the least possible impact on the environment of the rafts. This document aims to combine agricultural activities, the most shocking to aquatic ecosystems, conservation of biodiversity linked to this medium. To do this, have been counted and examined more than 16,500 Andalusian rafts. Early results indicate that artificial bodies of water, as used, can promote or harm to the natural environment. So that the rafts are as natural as possible, the guide provides formulas and alternatives. For example, the use of natural substrates instead of waterproof and without addition of chemicals. Thus, favouring the presence of plants and aquatic organisms in these waters that gain in quality. Due to the sampling of more than 250 representative of Andalusia rafts, also noted the important role of some refuge of certain species of amphibians and the danger they pose to the introduction of exotic species such as carp or the red crab. Also examines the possible relationship causal link between the existence of certain aquatic plants, the diversity of organisms and the quality of the water of the pools.
