eTRuck, the new truck frigorífico 100% electrical of Renault Trucks

Nestlé Swiss and Renault Trucks have desvelado a world-wide novelty in Berne: an unpublished experimental vehicle, designated eTruck. It is the association of a Renault Midlum of 13 tonnes 100% electrical, developed by Renault Trucks, and a bodywork frigorífica 100% electrical also. A second equivalent vehicle will join to the fleet of Nestlé Swiss in September. Both vehicles will be tested for the distribution of ice creams and products refrigerados Nestlé Frisco-Findus in the regions of Zúrich and Lausana. With these two never seen trucks in the urban transport of commodities, Renault Trucks and Nestlé Switzerland give jointly a first step for a cleaner transport in Switzerland.

In front of the big challenges of the urban transport of commodities, there is not an only solution. As it required Heinz-Jürgen Löw with occasion of the presentation of this Midlum electrical, is convenient “to put the suitable truck, with the suitable power, in the suitable place and in the suitable moment”. This sucede so much by the innovation in the organisation of the systems of transport, as by the technical evolution of the vehicles and of the services associated. This collaboration between Nestlé Swiss and Renault Trucks will allow to test and validate the new generations of batteries, optimise the components and look for the most favourable commitments before happening to a new stage in the studies on this type of vehicle.

By his side, Eugenio Simioni, general director of Nestlé Switzerland put of relief the silent “side and without broadcasts contaminantes” of these two vehicles, that “constitute a new stage in the chain of supply”. They will allow to continue the effort undertaken by the team of logistical Frisco to reduce the broadcasts of CO2 with the optimisation of the plannings of distribution and the economic driving.

The two vehicles put to disposal of the team Frisco will be able to load three tonnes of ice creams and of products refrigerados. They are allocated to resupply daily between 30 and 50 points of sale, realising of 60 to 100 km. The first truck will go in in service in the zone of Zúrich in July and the second in September in the region of Lausana.
