Construction, Wood and Affine of CCOO (
Fecoma) desvela that, along 2011, died a total of 123 workers in accident of work, in the sectors of the construction and his affine industries. In concrete, 117 of these accidents produced in the works, whereas the six remaining took place in the sector of the wood. Likewise, 159 workers resulted injured of gravity, two of them very grave.
To simple sight, these figures desvelan a slight descent in the number of labour accidents in the sector, with regard to the past year, in which they lost the life a total of 157 workers in labour accident. However, the reality desvela the contrary, if we take into account the fall in the number of employees experienced during 2011 in the construction, with regard to the previous year. Like this, according to the Survey of Active Population (EPA), in the fourth quarter of 2010 registered a total of 1.163.800 employees. The last figures of the EPA, referents to the third quarter of the present year, signal 1.022.300 salaried people in the construction. Therefore, in place to produce a descent in the number of demises in the hack, has experienced an increase, when taking into account the fall produced in the number of workers in the sector.

After registering 16 died (13% total), Andalucia has been the region with greater number of demises by labour accident in the construction, according to the figures registered by FECOMA-CCOO. To continuation, situate Community of Madrid, with 15 deaths in the hack (12% of the total); Castile and Leon and Galicia, with 11 deaths each one (9%), and Basque Country, with ten (8%).
Aplastamientos, main cause of demise
