So far, Europe has developed a solid foundation in industrial robotics. To help maintain this leadership position and promote their expansion in the emerging markets of services and security, the European Commission has launched an ambitious programme of r & d that is intended to give impetus to the research in robotics.
The European technology platform in robotics Europ was created to enhance the dialogue between key stakeholders from academia and the industrial and to ensure that the manufacturers of robots would benefit from the developments. Its objective is to identify targets for research and development of industrial relevance and develop a European Agenda for strategic research (SRA) to achieve these objectives. Europe members who collaborate in the SRA nowadays represent five areas of Robotics: industrial robotics, robotics Robotics, robotic security, robotics of domestic services and professional services space.
