World experts in robotics citarán in ISR 2009 in Barcelona
January 13, 2009
The ISR is an event that brings together scientists, teachers and technicians from all over the world, giving researchers and engineers the opportunity to present their projects and exchange ideas. The Symposium will offer five types of sessions: científico-técnicas, industrial, technology transfer, new products and opportunities for research funding. During the three days Symposium, will be presented the latest advances and discoveries of the hand of reference professionals, associations and most influential companies in the sector. At the same time, the event also encourages young people interested in new technologies. This is one of the objectives of the Symposium: bringing together the professionals of the sector in the same space and the incorporation of new members to this world.
Industrial and scientific and technical sessions
The industrial sessions will focus on the sectors of food and agriculture, aeronautics, the automobile industry and the packaging. Also, new products discuss innovations that have opened new markets or those that have introduced significant changes in existing markets. Technology transfer sessions will focus on the experiences and results of research in real applications in the industrial world; and, finally, in the sessions of search for financial resources for research, the funds allocated to research in this area and to the development of the industrial robotics and the services is living in different countries are measured.
ISR 2009 will expire on 13 March with a visit to a local company in the food sector industrial, and tourist visits planned in the city of Barcelona for Saturday 14th.

Meeting of the Organizing Committee
The Chairman of the program Committee of the 2009 ISR and delegate in Spain of the International Federation of Robotics (IFR), Luis Basañez Villaluenga, attended the annual Congress 2008 in Seoul, during which he presented the programme of the ISR 2009 to be held in Barcelona.
Since 1970 the International Symposium of Robotics (ISR) had been organized in different continents, countries and cities jointly with an international exhibition of robots. The International Federation of Robotics was founded in 1987, coinciding with the 70th Edition of the event, as a professional organization non-profit in order to promote the research, development, use and international cooperation in the field of robotics.
AER-ATP, founded in 1985, is a non-profit in order to unite different groups in the development of robotics. AER-ATP is the Spanish Association of reference in the field of robotics, both in public and in private.
In 2007, the ISR took place in Rosemont (Chicago) jointly with the international Robot and Vision Show. The event promoted interaction with robots, demonstrating the simplicity of the technology and its application in specific situations. In 2008, the ISR was held from 15 to 17 October in Seoul.
