The States members with better results are reaching percentages of recycling of until the 70 % and practically do not bury residue any, whereas others still download in dumps more than the 75 % of his waste.

How have achieved the most efficient countries turn into a resource the problem of the elimination of waste? A new report published by the European Commission explains that they have attained it thanks to a combination of diverse economic instruments: in effect, the taxles and prohibitions applied to the download in dumps and the incineration, joined to the programs of responsibility of the producer and to the systems of payment by generation of waste have resulted the most effective tools to the hour to pipe the flows of waste by the senda of a greater sustainability.

The experience of the States members has showed that the best form to improve the management of the waste consists in the combination of a series of instruments:

1. Taxles and/or prohibitions in relation with the download and the incineration of waste – the results of the study do not leave place to doubts: the percentages of download and incineration of waste have diminished in those countries in which the prohibitions or taxles have increased the costs of these two methods of elimination.

2. The systems of payment by generation of waste have showed his efficiency to the hour to avoid the generation of waste and to boost the participation of the citizens in a collected of selective waste.

3. The programs of responsibility of the producers have allowed to diverse States members obtain and redistribute the necessary bottoms to improve the collected selective and the recycled. Now well, the relation cost-efficiency and the transparency vary of significant form between States members and between flows of waste, so that said diets have to be object of a planning and an exhaustive control.

For the responsible commissioner of the Environingingment, Janez Potočnik, “the waste have too value as to delete them simply, and a correct management of the same can do that this value go back to inject in the economy. In the actuality, six States members combine the practical elimination of the downloads in dumps with a high percentage of recycling.
