Hexagon Metrology Launches the system of mobile measurement of bicycles

Romer Bike Measurement System Is based in the arm of portable measurement of Hexagon Metrology, Romer Absolute Arm with scanner integrated cheese cheese laser. The system includes software of inspection 3D configured for measurement without independent contact of the user of the geometry of frame of the bicycle, guaranteeing total transparency and stability in the competitions professional cyclists. The Romer Bike Measurement System is the instrument approved by the UCI for comprobación of the legality of the frame of the bicycle, with independence of where realise the measurement.

With the technology of Romer, the scanner contributes an excellent performance even in surfaces of fibre of carbon of intense shine and in the areas of difficult typical access of the freamers of professional bicycles. During the measurement, the scanner integrated cheese cheese laser recopila 30.000 points 3D of the frame every second, allowing to the user create a model 3D highly precise of the own frame. Thanks to that the Romer Absolute Arm does not require time of warming and to the eight simple steps devoted of the software, the user can measure a frame of complete bicycle, compare it with the model CAD respective and generate a report of final measurement in less than ten minutes.

Jan-Anders Månson, director of the Technological Laboratory of Compounds and Polymers of the EPFL, affirms: “Hexagon Metrology has made possible that we can configure a powerful tool according to the requirements of the UCI. The Romer Bike Measurement System contributes to ensure that the dimensions of the bicycles of competition are absolutely inside the legal margin, even during a career. His mobility and performance in complex objects, like the freamers of the bicycles, add an important value to the sports of competition”.

The Romer Bike Measurement System premières in the Tour de France

The Union International Cyclist (UCI, Union Cycliste Internationale) uses the Romer Bike Measurement System of Hexagon Metrology in the Tour de France. The freamers so much of the bicycles of competition as of the bicycles of proofs have been checked during the process of approval to verify his compliance with the reglamentación of design of freamers of the UCI.
