Josep Huguet placed the first stone for the expansion of Ascamm

The expansion of the technological center of Ascamm is part of the Strategic Plan (2008-2011) and is one of the most important of Ascamm infrastructure projects since it began operations in 1987.
With the extension works, which will run for two years, Ascamm have a surface area of 11,000 m2 which means almost double its current facilities, which now have 6,000 m2, increase staffing by 60% to 160 workers (industrial engineering)(, other highly qualified technicians and technologists biomedical, physical) and increasing r & d activities in 70% enhancing and consolidating the various technological lines time as nanotechnology and energy that already have important projects in execution.
Also, it will house the Department of Robotics and Mechatronics, with significantly increased capabilities and spaces for units joint research where professionals of different companies, University research groups and ASCAMM will work on common projects, integrated in a same space dedicated to the development of research and innovation, with the common goal of providing value to new products.
