Oficemen and Cicloplast, for energy recycling of plastics

According to the President of Cicloplast, Julio Hernando, "to substantially reduce the destination in the plastic waste dump it is advisable to properly combine the recycled mechanical with energy recycling, in terms of eco-efficiency, there are limitations to the recycled plastics mechanic".
Currently, Spain is one of the countries of Europe with a higher percentage of municipal waste going to landfills. In particular, 68% of our garbage goes to there, while the average of the EU-15 is 33% and 42% if we talk about the Europe of 25. Will according to the President of Oficemen, Jean Martin-Saint-Leon, "this initiative involve, in addition to the savings of fossil fuels, the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, as Spanish landfills cause 3% of emissions." "On the other hand, the use of the cement for this purpose avoids investment in new facilities of waste management".
The agreement between Cicloplast and Oficemen, which will last for four years, provides also the Organization both of information activities and communication, as technical activities. In particular, both entities undertake to carry out training on this type of recycling activities, Exchange information on the current reality of this process, as well as to participate in meetings and congresses relating to waste management or forms of energy. On the other hand, are they involved in the development of joint studies and projects of r & d to help boost the already proven technical and environmental feasibility of energy recycling of waste plastics at cement plants with higher warranties and environmental advantages.
