KraussMaffei and Pryck GfA developed an innovative concept for the production of strips without end
April 24, 2009
Traditionally, producers of tires manufactured these strips without end by calendering method. But however this process later made longitudinal cutting with knives and even breaking the outer part of the strips without end to substantially improve the quality of the tire.
kraussmaffei berstorff, reprresentado by Coscollola commercial, and GFAP Pryck & co. mbH have joined forces and developed an innovative concept for the production of strips without end.
The line of band of surface ships ready to plug and consists of an extruder for rubber pump and hydraulic cross head die. This die is designed to cover 128 strings at once with rubber compound and to combine them with 16 bands of area that are subsequently wrapped around the tape during the mounting of the tire.
Details of engineering
The package covers the designed basket for 128 spools with nylon or hybrid cords, the line of extrusion with pump gear and hydraulic to death in the lower teams, cross head as well as the installation of the cooling drum, the accumulator of material and the 16 stations of the system of dissolution. The line reaches a capacity of 40 m/min in constant production and excellent extruded homogeneity.
Time-saving
The hydraulic cross head die ensures shorter cycles compared to the conventional version of stamping connected by screws. As the final die is set with a hydraulic lock, it can easily be replaced to make the change of material. The cross head is also equipped with a hydraulic system for the opening and closing, with major facilities in the clean-up operations. The change of this basket lasts only 30 minutes.
