Repsol and La Seda Barcelona sign a collaboration agreement for the production of polyols
January 14, 2009
The polyols are the result of the reaction of the propylene oxide, provided by Repsol, and ethylene oxide supplied by IQA. The industry of the polyols (Polyurethanes) is aimed at use in the sector of isolation (buildings, refrigerators and foams for automotive, among others).
IQA is the Chemistry Division of the Silk of Barcelona which produces ethylene oxide, glycols, polyols, PEG's (Polietilenglicoles) and Etoxilados. 50 Per cent of the production is intended for the manufacture of glycol, one of the raw materials for the production of PET polymers the company La Seda Barcelona manufactured at the plant in El Prat de Llobregat (Barcelona)Artenius Prat.
