The Ascamm Foundation develops new applications in biomedicine
September 9, 2008
The Foundation Ascamm has developed over the first half of this year, new technological applications for the biomedical sector.
In this regard highlights the progress that has been made in various projects related to orthopedic and dental products, as well as the manufacturing of implants and supports cell phones.
To do this, since the Ascamm Foundation works in the use of various techniques of rapid prototyping (Rapid Prototyping). When these technologies allow to obtain implants doctors, orthopedic products, or support for tissue engineering structures, one can call the process BioRapid Manufacturing (BioRM).
The Strategic Plan of the Ascamm Foundation for the next few years, provides for the development and enhancement of new lines of technological research in the field of biomedicine.
The ultimate goal is to be, in a short space of time, a national point of reference in the implementation of these new techniques.
The Ascamm Foundation leads the European project CustomIMD, funded by the European Union FP6, which consists of the development and manufacture of implants, especially cranial, spinal and dental.
