Final report 2007 is positive for the Italian industry of machinery for plastics and rubber
April 24, 2008
The Italian industry occupies leading positions in the global ranking of countries builders of machines for plastics and rubber, both in regards to the production and export. On the basis of the statistical development of the sectoral Association
Assocomaplast, the trade balance of the sector at the end of 2007 has been more than 2 billion euros, an increase of nine points in the production and almost 15 per cent in the export.
The labour force, limiting the statistical data of companies adhering to the Association, after stagnation in the biennium 2005-2006 has become to grow by 1.6 per cent in 2006-2007.
The upward trend in exports has relied in particular on sales to markets in markedly expansionary phase, such as Russia (+ 90.4% compared to 2006), India (+ 36.8%) and Turkey (+ 19%), but also to those more traditional Germany (+ 22%), France (+ 11.1%)Spain (+ 5.3%) and United States which, despite the negative impact of the expensive euro, has registered an increase of 4.2%.
On the basis of the good March of 2007, most of the Italian master builders has acquired a portfolio of orders which covers the first half of this year. For almost all the subsectors (equipment of injection, extrusion lines, machines for blowing of bottles, facilities for recovery and recycling etc) the evolution of orders at the end of the first two months of this year is still marked by optimism, but it is more difficult to venture projections for the second part of the year, especially against the dangers of the American economic crisis could have on this and other important markets in the area of the dollar which are destinations of the Made in Italy.
