SusChem Displaces to the pilot plant of Repsol in Tarragona

The past day 27 May, with reason of the ‘III Forum SusChem – Sustainable Chemicals, innovative and competitive companies', a delegation of organisers and assistants to the days, had the opportunity to visit the Petrochemical Complex of Repsol in Tarragona. In addition to doing a visit guided in coach to the installations could visit closely the pilot plant of polipropileno of Repsol. An only plant in his class, because of the numerous contributions of own technology that the company has carried out in the same. This pilot plant allows to Repsol carry out his developments of product ensuring time very reduced of launching to the market. The company increases with this, the speed of answer to the needs of his customers and his respective final markets.

The pilot plant is new by his big versatility, allows to adopt all the configurations of existent industrial processes for polipropileno and manufacture all the different families of existent commercial degrees (homopolymers, copolymers random and copolymers heterofásicos). This plant is so versatile, that could even adapt to the manufacture of degrees of polyethylene of the main commercial processes.

With all the mentioned previously, the pilot plant allows to Repsol diminish the number of necessary industrial proofs and, therefore, minimise the technical risk of the plants, as well as face technological challenges that can not be tackled directly in industrial plant.
