Aimplas launches a multimedia course online of bioplastics and biocomposites

The Technological Institute of the plastic (Aimplas) will offer from the next month of September the on-line course Biomateriales: Bioplásticos and Biocomposites. It treats of a course to distance that will give through the web of learning of Aimplas (www.formacion.aimplas.es), so that the students will be able to realise it of flexible way, anytime and from any place. The course, to charge of Miguel Ángel Sibila Lores, researcher of the Department of Sustainability and Industrial Valorisation of Aimplas, is to modulate and composes of multimedia interactive contents. In his development and implantation have collaborated professional technicians of Aimplas, those who through the tutorías personalised and other tools that offers the web will help to the student to comprise all the related with the materials bioplásticos and biocomposites.

The bioplásticos and biocomposites constitute a field of big interest for the professionals of the sector of the plastic, since it expects that his capacity of production increase considerably in the next years. Inside this big family of plastic materials include those biodegradable materials and/or obtained from renewable raw materials. The increasing interest by these materials roots in the profits that offer from the environingingmental punto, since they allow to reduce the dependency of raw materials of origin fossil as well as the broadcasts of gases invernadero to the atmosphere at the end of his useful life.

The course, headed to professionals of the sector of the plastic, has like main aims give to know the terminology related with the bioplásticos and the biocomposites, as well as distinguish the main types of biomateriales existent in the market and his areas of application. Also they will give to know the different processes of transformation of these materials and will explain the importance of his characterisation as well as the identification of critical properties to define the requests in the different applications. The students that participate in this formative action also will be able to realise an approximation to the applicable rule to these materials, as well as to the main systems of certification and echo-labelled. Finally, they will give to know the different typologies of valorisation of the plastic waste.
