Today begins SolidWorks World 2010
January 31, 2010
Judging from what I've seen, alleged bankruptcy in which the State of California is not moved to nothing tangible in these surroundings. The Anaheim Convention Center is in perfect running order and surrounded by a myriad of hotels in an enviably care environment. And since everything in [the USA's] America is great. And again, and although it does not have to do with anything, as reza a panel on the outside, here appeared Elvis in the 1970s.
The building will house three days a comprehensive set of conferences and workshops. Frankly, I I've discounted a couple of times trying to know 'who' will really be. About two hundred and pico, more or less, which must correspond to a few hundred and seventy and so many courses or workshops, to one or two sessions for each of them. They are classified in different areas, from the administration of the DAC to the productivity tools, through automation, communication and the validation of the design, management of data, educational issues, success stories...
At times I feel, however, that the learning is only the excuse. This is more of a 'networking' event than a collection of courses. It is the chance that people use every day SolidWorks, or which decides on SolidWorks on a company, or 'technological observers' of them find and spend several days, among other things, to share experiences. In a world in which virtual seems more real that never and at a time when saving (not only economic and economic) costs of a trip is frankly appetizing, it is that humans like to meet in a physical place. And that, while the beer of this country is not any wonder. But you must fatten both (or more) than those that are, judging by the size of the staff that now goes to the appointment. Like everything else in America, they are great. Some, large vertical; most, large horizontal. And some others (i.e. California) have the correct proportions.
Today Sunday already held several events
The day before of the SolidWorks World deployment of 100% take place a series of events that revolve around the planet SolidWorks. Among them, the users of the program have the opportunity to get their 'certification' CSWP ('Certified SolidWorks Professional) or CSWA ('Certified SolidWorks Associate'). How to obtain these titles not confined only to tests that take place here, though, and judging by how full were the rooms where take place the same, the number of people interested in that their knowledge should be backed up by some 'official' is does not reduce the least. To the contrary. Even if it means that in the USA the crisis begins to send, no one stop ' CV '. Just in case. That the world takes many turns. The SolidWorks, also.
While the students are examined, the professionals that are dedicated to training related to SolidWorks today have planned a meeting. Even if it is Sunday, here is the world 'currando' very early. How to start very early has an advantage if you are coming from Europe: notes less the jet-lag.
A little more Spanish than last year. But native.
Last year, during the celebration in Orlando for the 2009 version of the SolidWorks World, one of my surprises was that there was could hear the languages of Middle Earth, but very little, very little Spanish. This year I'm hearing more Spanish and not because here is too many Europeans speaking. Although, since Sunday, it is still premature to make reckless statements. This is California, and there are a lot of Spanish-speaking Americans. So far I've managed to hear 'good morning' in Italian, French, German, Swedish (I think), Japanese (in fact, I do not know what I have heard, but who said it was tearing eyes and on the card that was worn from the neck put 'japan').
Mr Garmendia, and his imasdé, however, do not I have seen yet to here. As I later have more luck, because I know that the Iberian section of SolidWorks and its director, who will be here this year and with whom we will have opportunity to speak, 'they are in it'.
* Good journalistic practices forcing corrobar news, on the source, as far as possible. Today (4/2/2010), I have seen that my prior statement was not true. There was no one surfing in Long Beach. But the beach is quite long, and there were many people doing 'jogging'.
