The Integrated cheese cheese System of Management of empty containers of phytosanitary ware (Sigfito) presented the Thursday 19 April in The Rioja the annual closing of data of collected. During 2011 they have collected a total of 3.358 tonnes of empty containers, what supposes that the year happened the Spanish agriculturalists recycled more than 55% of the empty containers of phytosanitary ware, 8 points more than in 2010 (47,8%). The system already has 2.791 points of collected along the all the Spanish territory, the majority of these points are situated in cooperatives (1.227 points) and distributors of phytosanitary ware products (1.038 points).

The CC AA that more recycle are Navarra and The Rioja, that in the year 2011 surpassed more than 95% of the containers put in the market. To these communities follow them Extremadura with 94%, Castile and Leon with 72%, Basque Country with 68%, Andalucia with 65%, Castile-La Mancha with another 65% and Aragon with 63%. All these autonomies are above the national average.

To the act, assisted the boss of Service of Management and Control of Waste, Ángel Martínez, and a wide representation of the industry of the phytosanitary ware, that of the hand of the director of the plant of recycling have been able to know the processes to which subject the empty containers. “The majority of the containers of phytosanitary ware that collect are composed by plastics that are triturados and washes. The plastic is turned into granza, that will finish recycling in new products, whose final applications will have to have accredited an industrial use”, explained Óscar Ortiz, director manager of the plant of treatment of FCC Field of The Rioja. The waste composed by paper, turn into pellets, a destined material to the production of power, mainly in cementeras.

Sigfito Is immersed in a very important process, in which “we want to improve and expand the service that at present give to the agriculturalist, have requested to the CC AA that authorise us to collect another waste that generate in the agricultural field and can manage the phytosanitary ware waste by the road of the no dangerous, what would allow to save costs in the collected”, aimed Rocío Pastor, general director of Sigfito.
