Ecological solution anti-roots in a green road in Angulema

The 'Voie See you' ('Green Road') of Baignes, a track reserved to pedestrians, cyclists, skaters and riders near of Angulema (Charente, France), has used the solution anti-roots Dupont Plantex Racibloc, that allows to avoid the invasion of roots that ocasionan cracks and resquebrajaduras, affecting to the confort and the security of the users. This ecological solution does not use chemical herbicides.

The “Green Road” has developed on the route of an ancient line férrea built in the second half of the 19th century, that had remained into disuse by the Sncf (Société Nationale give Chemins of Fer Français) in 2004. In the past century, planted acacias to stabilise the margins of the road férrea. Over time, his roots have gone invading the track, affecting to the margins and to the centre. With the solution Dupont Plantex Racibloc, the zone of circulation remains protected of roots completely, included the lateral margins.

The zone of circulation has a half width of three metres and is asphalted on a layer of gravel.
