To the positive short-term forecasts, exhibiting firms had gone to the trade fair city with great expectations. Von Fritsch said: "Hannover Messe has exceeded these expectations thanks to a good selection of items with a higher degree of internationality and over 5,000 presented innovations".
The 'smart efficiency' section was the common thread across all presentations of companies, also translating into the talks and forums. "More than 60 forums included a participation record, surpassing the figures for 2009 by 30 per cent".
There has been interest especially strong in issues related to energy and automation. "The central theme of these days has been the right combination of solutions, i.e. the energy 'mix' of the future, but also the efficient use of energy." The message conveyed by Hannover Messe is: the reduction of the consumption occurs more rapidly than the construction of new power stations.
Hannover Messe has been shown that the industry already currently offers efficient technologies: only need to use them. "According to experts, the potential of energy saving corresponds to 30 percent," said von Fritsch. In this edition of Hannover Messe it has been proved that all central areas of the fair have benefited from the consistent expansion of the energy issue in recent years.
Looking ahead to next year, von Fritsch announced the extension of the special presentation Metropolitan Solutions, released in 2011. "The reception of Metropolitan Solutions has been impressive." The issue of urbanization has generated an incredible dynamic. "The industry already currently offers a number of concrete answers to the burning issues of urbanization, and Hannover Messe has been the best platform to present the subject."
On the other hand, the thematic range of Hannover Messe will be completed in 2012 by a new key fair. "With IndustrialGreenTec we will provide a unique platform for the technologies of the environment". The offer will focus on the industrial solutions for saving circular, waste disposal, as well as clean air and water, for use throughout the creation of industrial value chain. The motto of the new key fair will be: "of the industry for the industry," added von Fritsch.
In total more than 230,000 visitors flocked to Hannover Messe 2011, which corresponds to an increase of ten ten and an and a 15 per cent, compared with the year 2009. Some 60,000 visitors, 33 per cent more than in 2009, were of foreign origin.
"Foreign visitors this year to fill itself alone 150 widebody aircraft", said von Fritsch. "The number of visitors from all countries has been greater and all sections of the fair have benefited from this increase." One of every three visitors belonged to the level of top executive of his company, reaching this figure by 20 percent over the previous share.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel and the French Prime Minister Francois Fillon, inaugurated the fair in Hannover on April 3 in the presence of 2,400 guests. The fair also featured the visit of 120 international politico-económicas delegations. "The France associate country was presented as an industrial nation with strong innovative potential and good partner of the German economy,", said von Fritsch.
