Sandvik Coromant opens up a new Centre for the machining of deep drilling

Sandvik Coromant has officially opened its new global application Center of machining for drilling deep (DHM, for its acronym in English) in Cirencester. The new facility will be used to develop new and innovative techniques to their clients in the generation of electrical, aerospace, energy and oil and gas sectors. It will also provide interface for research institutes, manufacturers of mechanical tools and universities who wish to carry out tests or studies of specific components.
To meet the needs of its customers, Sandvik Coromant will increase their r & d resources, shall be appointed and will be trained product specialists and will develop new processes to increase productivity and quality to manufacture these complex components.
The new facility includes a machine specialized in drilling deep holes capable of profiling interior and bore of cameras, a small centre of turning for machining roller Guide and measuring equipment for fixing tools and check characteristics of the components. The information obtained from the machine for drilling deep holes will enable registration and analysis of machining processes during operations, as well as available copies of all the data so that any future replica can be compared with the reference.
