Bruker acquires Agilent certain Varian product lines

Product lines that Bruker to acquire include: instruments of mass spectrometry with plasma coupled by induction (ICP-MS) of Varian, business located in Melbourne (Australia); instruments of gas chromatography for laboratory (Lab GC) of Varian, business located in Middelburg (the Netherlands); and instruments of gas chromatography - mass of triple quadrupole (GC-QQQ) of Varian spectrometry, business located in Walnut Creek, California.
The transaction is subject to the usual conditions and the adoption of the commissions, hoping that it closes shortly after that Agilent completed the acquisition of Varian (what is expected to happen before April 30, 2010).
Bill Sullivan, President and Chief Executive Officer of Agilent, stated: "the agreement to sell these businesses to Bruker is an important milestone for completing our acquisition of Varian." "Although we would have liked to keep all these lines of business, we are pleased that they are operating under the strong leadership of Bruker."
