Powerlink, officially included in the IEC international standards

The IEC 61784-2 standard specifies communication profiles, while the IEC 61158 specifies the services and field bus protocols. Powerlink, also called 'CANopen via Ethernet', offers a wide range of technical advantages. In addition the standardization, the independence of any manufacturer and the fact is based on absolutely standard hardware, ensures investment for users and manufacturers.
Used as fieldbus in automation since 2001, Powerlink has been the market leader in the field buses in real time and is now characterized by being installed in more than 40,000 machines produced in series by more than 200 manufacturers. The Organization of users of Powerlink, the Ethernet Powerlink Standardization Group (EPSG) has more than 400 members, including manufacturers of controls and components, end users, educational institutions and consulting firms.
