Sensors of small size and high performance for small spaces
There is a growing demand for smaller sensors that offer the performance, speed and precision of larger sensors. In addition to functionality, it should also be possible to integrate these sensors in a discreet way on the machine.
In order to meet these demanding requirements, pepperl + Fuchs offers small and compact sensors that incorporate different types of technologies:
- Inductive technology
- Ultrasound technology
- Xinchi
- As-interface
Inductive sensors for metals
Sensors whose operation is based on the inductive principle detect metal objects without contact and are therefore not subject to wear.
The advantages of the inductive proximity include a total lack of maintenance and outstanding resistance to interference close to the application sources. Dust, dirt, vibration, and humidity does not influence the ability of these sensors detect, count and control processes in numerous applications.
Our miniature inductive sensors are supplied in different versions:
- Cylindrical shells with a diameter of just 3 mm
- Smaller cubic housings
The ultrasonic troubleshoot with materials
The new generation of ultrasound of the F77 series, with its compact design, can detect objects made with the most problematic materials such as reflective or transparent objects accurately.
The narrow cone of projection and extremely reduced 10 mm shadow zone allow the detection of objects through extremely dense groupings of components in the machine. F77 series offers a degree of impressive noise of plant immunity and can be integrated easily into machines with little available space.
F77 compact series is supplied in the following versions:
- Sensor in diffuse mode with elimination of background
- Retro-reflective sensor
- Beam with a powerful detection sensor
Optical precision
The most recent development within the category of miniature housings is the R2 series. The special features of this series of CPU size include its extreme robustness, simple operation and easy installation. Housing extremely small with a 45 ° cable output allows an installation that saves space in the plant. Thanks to its flat front face of scratch-resistant glass, the R2 can be mounted near the object in motion. The small point of light and the large number of functions open the door to a new range of solutions.
Miniature photoelectric sensor contains a wide selection of designs almost for any application:
- The standard covers with smaller cubic shape as ML6, ML7 and ML100 series
- Covers special for each application as the ML8 and ML10 series, as well as for various optical fibers
- Groove photoelectric GL5 miniature sensors
Perfectly connected to the as-interface
As-interface is the standard solution for a simple and economical interconnection of sensors and actuators in the field. Pepperl + Fuchs has developed the ultra-compact series G10, which is the smallest interface module in the world in IP68 / 69K. These one-piece modules are adapted to any driving cable and stand out due to its simple Assembly; just insert the ribbon cable, adjust the closing and screw. Its unique Rotary mechanism ensures a reliable contact.
These compact modules of interface, for example, can control motors in an intelligent manner and save energy. DC motors and sensors are connected directly. This innovative concept of pepperl + Fuchs for an efficient consumption of energy won this year in Germany industrial 'Automation with as-interface as a contribution to the protection of the climate'.
Developments within the ultra-compact series G10:
- The digital module is now also available with two outputs
- The smaller security module in the world with IP67
- A wide variety of connector blocks
In summary
- As it reduces the size of production and assembly plants also makes it the space available for the installation of the sensors.
- Pepperl + Fuchs offers a complete range of sensors of small size that includes sensors inductive, photoelectric and ultrasonic.
- They are the only devices of this type existing in the world and the best solutions available on the market.
- Peripherals include network interface modules.
