A Spanish researcher coordinates the taking of data of one of the big experiments of the LHC

María Chamizo Llatas, researcher of the Centre of Energetic Investigations, Environingingmental and Technological (Ciemat) and of the National Centre of Physics of Particles, Astropartículas and Nuclear (CPAN), is the manager of the operation of the detector CMS for 2012-2013. The CMS, Solenoid of Muones Compact, is a detector of particles, experiment in which it participates Ciemat and that is providing data from his entrance in operation does already two years.

Between the aims of this project finds the increase the power of the collisions in the LHC to increase the data and give more options to the experiments to confirm the existence of the boson of Higgs to finals of 2012. It is the first Spaniard in reaching the responsibility of the complete operation of a big experiment like CMS, where participate more than 2.000 scientists of 155 institutes and 37 countries, between them, 88 Spaniards.
