The social responsibility in Henkel ‘smiles' thanks to his employees

Henkel Keeps a strong social commitment and reflects it through his employees and employees through the program

- And finally, the ‘Commitment with the Employees' is the third part of the program in which the workers of Henkel request economic helps for non-profit organisations, called Make and Impact on Tomorrow (MIT).
“Henkel Has 47.000 employees to world-wide level and anybody better that they knows to the local organisations, in which in a lot of occasions are involved like volunteers, to request this help” comments Luis Carlos Lacorte, president of Henkel Iberian.
From 2008, Henkel has allocated 18 million euros to fund 9.789 social projects helping to more than two million people in 42 countries. In words of Lacorte “the focus is in the infancy no only because it was the future of our society but because they also will be our future employees and consumers of products and technologies Henkel”.
Already does more than 14 years that Henkel Iberian started the projects MIT in the Iberian peninsula and during this time, the employees have presented more than 850 projects to help in more than 70 countries. In economic terms, Henkel Iberian has donado almost one million euros and 3,5 million products in donations. The result of these years has been spectacular, since Henkel Iberian has helped to more than 30.000 boys all over the world.
In the 14ª edition of the Henkel Smile: MIT in Henkel Iberian, the winning projects have been the following (1 in Portugal and 9 in Spain):
- Project of economic support, social and of accommodation to poor families in risk of social exclusion of the neighbourhood of the Guinardó of Barcelona. Gresol Ajuda i Solidaritat Of the Guinardó.
- Project of help to the people in social exclusion: boys, 3ª age, women victims of Violence of gender, people without home. ADAMA (Association of Alternatives, Motivation and Accompaniment).
- Project of construction of a school in conditions for boys and girls in risk of social exclusion in Africa with the aim to improve his education. Afrikable.
- Boost the investigation to cure the illness Sanfilippo, a hereditary illness of character recesivo. Stop Sanfilippo.
- Develop of a program of education and nutrition for boys between 3 and 12 years that live in the rural area Tankarpata of Cuzco (Peru). Association Marries of Convivencias John Paul II.
- Construction of a school of secondary so that the boys continue his education and do not abandon to the extreme poverty of a zone of Kenia. Chazon Children Center.
- Project of purchase and set up of a mill of corn managed by the community whose profits revertirán in the same community. Malawi Africa.
- Project to provide nutritional help to the boys of the Primary School that are desnutridos: the program calls ‘One nutritional pap for children'. Isolana Private foundation.
- Project for the creation of 1 nutritional centre in the island of Ibo in which it will provide to the boys of less than 5 years eaten to improve his state of health. NGO that will llevar: Fundacion IBO.
- Project to keep the House gives Joy, the home in which it receives to people (adults and boys) ill that arrive of Africa to receive medical treatment in Portugal. It carries do Mais Association.
