Leroy Merlin celebrates his National Week of Prevention of Labour Risks

With reason of the commemoration tomorrow of the International Day of the Health and the hygiene in the Work, Leroy Merlin celebrated his National Week of the Prevention of Labour Risks, a practical and creative initiative that involucra to all the equipment of the shops to improve a culture of company increasingly safe and healthy. The ‘respect to the people', inside the cual freamers the health of the collaborator, is the fundamental principle by means of which Leroy Merlin boosts the preventive culture in the company. Like result of this integration of the prevention in the culture of Leroy Merlin, in 2011 has registered a reduction of the siniestralidad in more than 1 point with regard to the previous year.

The National Week of the Prevention of Labour Risks comprises different workshops learnings, simulations and contests. They stand out the workshops for the prevention headed to all the managers, the workshops of back, hygiene vial, risoterapia, and the talks on healthy habits. With regard to contests, Leroy Merlin has carried out different initiatives: contest of election of logo for department of PRL, manufacturing of signpost of prevention, the test on labour welfare, or the contest on ergonomic best practices. Like activities lúdicas have developed , between others, the Showroom of the Health, a space in the rooms of rest where encouraged to each employee to that it contributed his own technical and material related with the health and The Career of the Health, a local announcement of each shop in which so much the collaborators like his familiar participated in a small career of some 5 km.

During 2011, Leroy Merlin has realised auditss of PRL to all the shops of Spain, and has launched a complete practical learning against fires. Also they have realised ergonomic studies in the places of boxes, seller, seller of servicorte and reponedor, whose measures will study and will begin to implant during 2012. In the last years, Leroy Merlin has improved the integration of the prevention of labour risks in the design of the job centres, as well as the acquisition of machines and equipment of safe work. During these years has manifested a greater awareness in matter of PRL by part of the collaborators of the shops, thanks to formative activities organised by Leroy Merlin, like the Week of the Prevention.

Thanks to all these actions, Leroy Merlin continues reducing of progressive form the siniestralidad labour, tendency that is registering from the year 2006. The aims in 2012 are to continue with the reduction of the siniestralidad, the integration of the prevention of risks in all the processes of the company and in the day in day out of the shops and boost the preventive culture.
