Good prospects for the foundry, after the general meeting of Fundigex
February 28, 2011
Day 17 February 2011 took place in Bilbao (Bizkaia) General meeting 28TH of Fundigex (Association Spanish of exporters of casting.) (Machinery, products and services for the Foundry). In it, was assessed both the situation of the sector in general as the billing and data export. "The first point, provides for an improvement"but with caution": results from surveys of members show a clear improvement on the start of the year 2010, when the sector was in crisis of large proportions". Now, it seems that the sector is "moderately optimistic, and in addition to widely, both for ferrous smelters as non-ferrous". The results show that 67% of the companies envisage improving their figures in 2011, compared with 28% of a year ago.
As for invoicing and export data, estimated a rise both turnover and exports. Check-in the first half of 2011 to benefit from an increase of 4.2% over the second half of 2010. The second half of the year will also bring positive figures, "Although it is moderating the growth (+ 2.7%)". For its part, exports, which have been the tractor element in recent years, continue to grow, although they smoothed the trend (up to 3% in the second half of the year 2011).
By sectors, data presented in the Board noted an improvement in most of the sectors the Foundry customer, highlighting the valves, the railroad, mining or the automotive industry (especially the industrial vehicle). But it seems that also improve, "without giving samples of great dynamism", sectors as machinery in general, the shipbuilding, steel, equipment, among others. On the other hand, seems that we still have negative behaviour (although generally with more optimism than at the beginning of 2010), sectors such as machine tools, the cement, the die-stamping, construction and public works.
By 2011 the Board presented its plan of shock which highlights the participation in coming both from the sector of subcontracting fairs in the sector client with survey missions.
Also, they are already underway the business meetings of European cast iron (with reason the Industrial Summit of Bilbao in the month of September), and 18 trade missions to be undertaken throughout the year to different countries of the globe.
