Mixed humidifying and fogging system Geranis, 25 08338 IrúPremià de Dalt (Barcelona) Tel.: +34 937 549 898 • Fax: +34 937 517 966 info@humidificacion.net www.aqualife.com.es Humidifying is a practically continuous process, while fogging is scheduled at longer intervals. The aim is for the water cloud with 40 micron droplets to extend over the green vegetables so that they retain their moisture. The moisture is prevented from evaporating as a result of the air conditioning or strong lighting usually to be found in fruit and vegetable areas in supermarkets. Aqualife tested the system in the laboratory and subsequently carried out the first installation in a supermarket in Barcelona, Spain. "The test is not now being done in artificial conditions, with 75% humidity and at 21°C, but during the real management of the section, the morning and evening restocking and handling by the customers themselves. The goal was to determine the response to these conditions and improve the customer's purchasing experience, by maintaining the flavour, texture, firmness, smell and sugar level in the fruit. Also, by checking that the fogging of the fruit and vegetables was not a rejection factor for the housewife. The results have been very positive and the system has now been installed in other supermarkets in Barcelona. Aqualife installs its systems in Spain, Portugal and France and soon also in Angola. 25
