4/ The spanish machine tool sector needs to gain critical mass to be able to continue on the path of innovation and international expansion Total exports accounted for more than 80% of the sector’s overall production, yielding 1,088.13 million euros in all, a 9.37% increase on the figure of 994.88 million reached in 2011, which was an all-time high. Breaking this down into sub-sectors, international machine tool sales amounted to 782,4 million euros, a 12,59% improvement on the previous year.
